Kefi Gold And Copper — Tulu Kapi Update

The company reports that all employees affected by the incident have been accounted for, with no further fatalities or injuries sustained. The colleague who lost his life in the incident has now been laid to rest. Senior management and the local management team have held detailed consultations with community representatives, Ethiopian and Oromia Government leaders, and other stakeholders, all of whom reiterated the strategic importance of the Project and expressed full support for both the Project and the company's careful approach to resuming development activities. Lycopodium, the Project's lead design and construction contractor, has its project oversight team in Ethiopia working closely with the wider Project team and local contractors as the situation is assessed and plans are reviewed. The company has received renewed and increased indications of interest from Ethiopian institutions and high net worth family offices for Ethiopian redeemable preference shares at the subsidiary level, which would be non-dilutive to KEFI shareholders and provide further financial flexibility and mitigation of funding risk. KEFI will not resume development activities until a full investigation is completed and appropriate safety measures are established. The company will provide further updates as appropriate. The Government has committed to do whatever it can to overcome this serious setback. KEFI will further strengthen and expedite the momentum towards the Ethiopianisation of the Project at all levels, including community participation, alliancing between foreign industry-specialist contractors and strong locals, and local participation in the funding syndicate.

GALANTAS GOLD BEGINS DRILLING AT ANDACOLLO

The initial drill program consists of 15,000 metres and is designed to test possible extensions of higher grade gold zones within the Andacollo Gold mineral resource, newly identified areas of higher grade gold mineralization, and copper mineralization, including possible porphyry copper mineralization associated with Teck's adjacent Carmen de Andacollo mine. An additional component of the program is infill drilling to increase confidence in the current resource model and support mine planning. The first drill rig arrived yesterday and is setting up to begin drilling a possible extension of higher grade gold mineralization in the Tres Perlas pit area. This first drill hole will also test a recently discovered zone at surface of sheeted quartz-sulphide veins as well as a possible extension of chalcocite (supergene-enriched) mineralization from the adjacent Carmen de Andacollo mine. Two more drill rigs are expected to arrive within weeks, and the Company expects to have three drill rigs turning at the property by the end of September. The exploration team has defined multiple targets for higher grade gold mineralization within the current resource pit shell that could potentially increase the overall gold grade of the Andacollo Gold mineral resource. The team has also identified new targets that could potentially add substantial tonnage of near-surface, higher grade gold mineralization. The program will also test for possible extensions of Teck's adjacent Carmen de Andacollo porphyry copper deposit on the property with the objective of delineating a possible copper resource at Andacollo Gold.

Gold Exploration JV Update

(LSE: EST) East Star Resources Plc has provided an update on its gold exploration joint venture with Endeavour Exploration Limited, a subsidiary of Endeavour Mining plc (LSE: EDV, TSX: EDV). Under the strategic joint venture agreement announced on 13 November 2025, Endeavour has the right to earn a 51% interest in the JV by funding US$5 million of qualifying exploration expenditure during the Stage 1 earn-in period of two years, which commenced on 15 May 2026. Since the establishment of the JV, East Star and Endeavour have completed field visits and geological reconnaissance across 15 priority targets within the Areas of Interest in the north of Kazakhstan, totalling over 300,000km2. Several new exploration licence applications have been submitted, covering in excess of 930km2 and focused on Intrusion Related Gold systems within the northern Area of Interest. The JV's in-country technical and operational team now includes two senior geologists and four junior geologists. Work completed includes compilation and review of historical and modern geological and exploration datasets, collection of 1:50k geological, mineralogical and geophysical maps, and Soviet exploration reports with AI assisted translation and spatial searchability functions. A large-scale review of the geotectonic setting of mineral provinces within the Areas of Interest has commenced using a hybrid traditional and AI assisted system for prospectivity mapping. The JV will progress into more systematic field exploration, including geological mapping, soil and geochemical sampling once licence applications are granted. East Star also holds a joint venture with Hong Kong Xinhai Mining Services Limited to take the Verkhuba Deposit (20.3Mt @ 1.16% copper, 1.54% zinc and 0.27% lead) into production at no further cost to East Star, retaining 30% ownership in production. Another joint venture with a Kazakh mining company aims to develop the Rulikha project (exploration target of 23Mt @ 2.4% copper equivalent) into production at no further cost to East Star, with East Star retaining between 25% and 35% ownership in production.
