Rapid Critical Metals Extends Silver System 300m South of Current Webbs Resource
High-grade silver hits extend mineralisation, but value realisation is years away.
Risk flags
- ●There is no disclosure of updated resource size, cost per meter drilled, or capital expenditure, making it impossible to assess whether the project is advancing toward commercial viability or simply incurring exploration costs.
- ●The majority of claims about resource growth, higher classification, and corridor scale are forward-looking and not yet supported by updated models or third-party verification, increasing the risk that actual resource upgrades may fall short of expectations.
- ●The timeline for value creation is long, with key activities and potential resource upgrades not expected until the second half of 2026 or later, exposing investors to extended exploration and market risk without near-term catalysts.
Bottom line
This announcement provides credible evidence of high-grade silver intersections and confirms mineralisation extensions at the Webbs project, but all value creation remains in the technical exploration phase. The narrative is optimistic and ramps up expectations for resource growth and accelerated drilling, yet no updated resource, cost, or financial data is provided to quantify the impact. With major work and any potential resource upgrade not expected until 2026 or later, the investment case is speculative and long-dated. For this to become actionable, the company would need to disclose updated resource estimates, cost structures, or binding commercial agreements. The single most important takeaway is that while technical progress is real, investors face a multi-year wait for any tangible value realisation.
Announcement summary
(ASX: RCM) Rapid Critical Metals has extended silver mineralisation more than 300 meters south of the current resource at its 100%-owned Webbs silver project in northern New South Wales, returning a standout result of 4m at 1,230 grams per tonne silver equivalent from 136m within a broader 37.4m interval grading 278.8g/t AgEq. A second high-grade intersection returned 7m at 641.8g/t AgEq from 75m in the main Webbs lode to the north. Drilling also returned 15m at 200.3g/t AgEq from 60m, including 1m at 1,605g/t AgEq, as well as 12m at 107.3g/t AgEq from 71m and 8m at 118.9g/t AgEq from 145m. The latest batch covered 20 holes and has increased confidence in parts of the orebody, with some areas considered likely to move into higher resource classifications as geological and resource models are updated. The southern step-out intersection of 2m at 118.0g/t AgEQ from 117m lies more than 300m south of the current Webbs resource and provides a new target area for follow-up drilling. Environmental approvals have been received for the Webbs consol project, allowing Rapid to expand exploration across the broader Webbs-Webbs Consol corridor during the second half of 2026. Rapid is also progressing a broader 2026 exploration program across its New South Wales silver portfolio, with continued resource growth and discovery drilling planned alongside follow-up work at Webbs.
